“Social Distance, but Can’t Wait to See You” Rally
Wateree does not have any available sites so if you need to cancel please let us know. Several of you were planning to be on other trips so couldn’t get reservations.
We realize in the new health world that we have to adjust to stay safer. Thus a couple of changes. Virtual hugs only! We will have a group Sat breakfast and Sat night meal but both will be partially ‘make your own’ (see below). We will have separate utensils for each person so you will not be sharing any serving items. For Happy Hour we recommend bringing your own snacks rather than sharing. And we need to keep our social circle larger. At this writing, we don’t know how many of us can actually be in a group.
We will be completely outside in Wateree so no concerns about being in a building.
FRIDAY, Jun 5:
4:00 PM – welcome and social distance happy hour.
6:00 PM – Supper on your own. We’re assuming we can sit in the vicinity of each other! The park is has a small restaurant but we don’t know its current status so please be prepared with food.
8:00 PM – Campfire: please bring firewood!
SATURDAY, Jun 6:
Registration: $15 per rig or $10 for singles. Children 12 and under are free.
8:30 AM – Breakfast will be make your own Breakfast burrito. We’ll have the eggs scrambled and all the fixings. You’ll built your own! We’ll also have fruit. Bring your plates/flatware and beverage including coffee.
President Jim Eaton will have a Brief meeting after breakfast to catch up on business and plan the day
If you couldn’t get reservations but can come to visit, we’d be delighted to see you. The Petersons are hoping to come by on Saturday. Just let us know if you’ll be here for meals.
4:00 PM – Happy Hour. Bring your snack and your beverage of choice.
6:00 PM – Dinner: grilled bratwurst and hot dogs with all the trimmings. Just like breakfast, you’ll build your own. We’ll also have salad and dessert. Bring your plates/flatware and beverage of choice.
8:00 PM – Campfire, if we have wood.
SUNDAY, June 7:
9:00 AM – Short Devotional Service if we have a volunteer.
Wishing everyone safe travels.
Updates and Thanks
Thanks to Henry Knight and the team of volunteers who helped make Georgetown “Streamin on the Harbor” such a smashing success. And to Perry Wallace for again organizing the Thursday BoJangles dinner.
Thanks to Jerry Peterson for stepping up to become the Region 3 VP3!
Gordon Syrett’s funeral was 5/9. Some of you were able to see it Live through the church website. They printed the entire service so some of us were able to at least read it.
Jerry Peterson reports that John Leake is planning to have Region 3 officer installation at Palmetto Cove the last weekend of June. If you’d like to go camping please contact Palmetto Cove.
We can still use a host for September. Please remember you can buddy up with someone else. If we don’t have volunteers we’ll make it a potluck rally.
November hosts are of course John and Elaine Tanner (oops, this was inadvertently left off the list) along with David and Bonnie Stuckey.
Ocean Lakes 2020: sites are still available for Dec 4-6. Please contact Jan Eaton at email@example.com to get a site and a reservation #. Then you can call Ocean Lakes to confirm your reservation. They will need that site and reservation #. You can get your site number now and call Ocean Lakes later in the year to make your final reservation.
